Rocky Linux now supported!
Since the announcement by CentOS regarding the early end of life of CentOS 8, the open source community has been working hard at a viable replacement. One such replacement is Rocky Linux. Led by Gregory Kurtzer, founder of the CentOS project, Rocky Linux is a community enterprise OS designed to be 100% “bug-for-bug” compatible with RHEL.
If you’ve been relying upon CentOS as the foundation of your Linux stack, you can comfortable replace it with Rocky Linux and move forward. To help with this, 1GServers has recently completed integration testing and is now pleased to announce full support for Rocky Linux.
As of today, you can now deploy Rocky Linux with 1GServers on all auto deploy dedicated servers and custom dedicated servers.
Additionally, if you’d like to switch from CentOS Linux, Alma Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Linux to Rocky Linux, you can use this conversion tool.
